- Zara Larsson and a fan got tangled during her performance at the Way Out West music festival
- The Swedish singer’s hair got caught in a fan’s jewelry on stage as they performed the viral “Lush Life” dance
- Larsson has experienced multiple wardrobe malfunctions during her recent performances
Zara Larsson got into a bit of a hairy situation with a guest performer during her Way Out West set.
The 28-year-old pop star brought her vocals and dance moves home to Gothenburg, Sweden, for her set at the Swedish festival on Aug. 13. But when it came time to bring up one of her fans as part of her “Lush Life” choreography, she suffered a blunder when the fan’s jewelry got caught in her hair.
A clip shared by Swedish television channel TV4 captured the moment, which was handled with humor by both parties.

The malfunction occurred just moments after the fan was brought on stage and began singing and jumping along to Larsson’s 2015 hit. When the fan went to unwrap her arm from Larsson’s shoulder, it appeared as though her ring got snagged on the singer’s locks. However, Larsson laughed off the moment and carried on with the show.
Larsson proved to roll with the punches when she experienced another wardrobe faux pas during her set at Norway’s Neon Festival on June 6. During that, her hair extension fell out mid-song, as seen in a clip shared by a concertgoer and reported by Capital.
Another humbling moment occurred when Larsson kicked off the Today show’s Summer Concert Series performing her songs with a missing high heel. “We gotta dance extra hard because I lost my heel!” she joked on stage when Today co-host Sheinelle Jones was her special guest.

In April, Larsson wrapped the initial North American leg of her Midnight Sun Tour and followed it with a string of college performances that she signed on for in order to fund her official tour.
“I signed that s— a long time ago because I needed to pay for my real tour, because it’s so expensive to tour,” she said in a TikTok video posted on April 25.
Her mini circuit around campuses included performances at Yale University, University of Delaware, Tufts University and Brandeis University, and she said in the clip that she was committed to them, despite her bigger success. “Once I’ve signed that contract, I’m not pulling out. I don’t do that. I don’t cancel shows,” she shared. “Some people pay to go to college, I get paid to go to college.”
