In an interview with CBS, Clancy’s attorney Kevin Reddington said his client “just cares about everybody else”

Lindsay Clancy expressed sympathy for her ex-husband Patrick as conspiracy theories suggesting he murdered the couple’s three children circulated during her murder trial.

“She knew that it was just terrible what he was going through,” Clancy’s attorney Kevin Reddington told a CBS News reporter on Sept. 9.

When asked if he regretted not doing more to discredit some of those conspiracy theories, Reddington replied: “No.”

“I don’t regret anything,” he added. “I mean, as I’ve said, Patrick was represented by a very competent attorney.”

Reddington went on to speak highly of his client, just days after her murder trial ended in a hung jury and mistrial.

“She is very strong,” he said. “She really is a very, very intelligent woman. She’s not self-centered at all. She’s just very giving … She just cares about everybody else.”

Those remarks were similar to comments Patrick made days after he came home in January 2023 to find his then-wife had strangled their three children —Cora, 5, Dawson, 2, and 8-month-old Callan.

“My family was the best thing that ever happened to me,” Patrick wrote at the time. “I took so much pride in being Lindsay’s husband and a dad to Cora, Dawson, and Callan.”

He wrote Clancy was “generously loving and caring towards everyone,” and that “the very fibers of her soul are loving.”

Patrick added: “All I wish for her now is that she can somehow find peace.”

In the aftermath of the killings, Patrick packed up his belongings, began divorce proceedings and quietly began to rebuild his life.

He has had only limited contact with Clancy since that time, but did testify in court for the first two days of her trial in Plymouth County.

He did not return after that, but was seen strolling the streets of New York City with his wife of five months, Dr. Rachel Danis.

A reproductive specialist who works for a practice in Brooklyn, she moved into Patrick’s Upper East Side apartment in 2025, a friend of the couple told PEOPLE, and in April 2026, they got married in Central Park.

It was a small ceremony attended by close friends and family, according to the friend, who was a guest.

Danis has spoken publicly about her own fertility journey; in September 2024, she was a guest on the Fertility Forward podcast.

“I remember when I first froze my eggs, I felt like, I mean, even sometimes still, I feel like this black sheep. I think for women, it’s just really hard,” she said. “We have so much pressure to balance career and personal growth, but like we’re riddled with this fertility stuff.”

Clancy, meanwhile, remains in the state-run Tewksbury Hospital as she awaits news of how prosecutors plan to proceed with her case.

Her next court appearance is set for Sept. 29.
