Another mission is in the books for the Lioness team.
The Taylor Sheridan-created Paramount+ series follows CIA senior case officer Joe McNamara (Zoe Saldaña), who leads a team of elite soldiers on dangerous undercover missions. But in season 3, the tables turn when Joe is abducted by an unknown enemy, sending her team on a desperate mission to bring her home.
Joe’s kidnapping takes center stage throughout the season, which features familiar faces including Kaitlyn Meade (Nicole Kidman), Neal McNamara (Dave Annable), Edwin Mullins (Morgan Freeman) and Byron Westfield (Michael Kelly), alongside several new additions to the cast.
In August 2026, Saldaña spoke to PEOPLE about how she’s come to admire Kidman after collaborating on the show.
“I admire her,” Saldaña said of her costar. “She’s an incredibly talented woman, but what she is first and foremost, what I love the most, is she’s a mother. She’s a daughter. She’s a sister. She’s a friend.”
They aren’t the only ones who have bonded on set. The actress said that preparing for the series is “like suddenly doing a thesis in the CIA” — which is why she, Kelly and Freeman regularly run lines together.
In honor of season 3 coming to a wrap on Sept. 20, here’s a look at the cast behind the scenes of Lioness season 3.
