The Philadelphia Eagles left it all on the field… literally.

Eagles lineman Cam Jurgens opened up about the team’s experience playing in the sweltering Nashville heat on Sunday, Sept. 20, when Philadelphia topped the Tennessee Titans, 24-20.

Head coach Nick Sirianni not only needed an IV after the game, which reached 95 degrees at kickoff, but Jurgens, 27, said two pairs of his cleats melted as the temperature on the artificial turf at Nissan Stadium measured a reported 157 degrees.

“I went through a couple today,” Jurgens told reporters about his shoes after the game. “Halftime was like a NASCAR pit crew helping me get ready for the second half… That turf was just radiating. That was our first turf game of the year. It’s different when the sun hits it. It just radiates that heat. Feet were burning, still hurting.”

Sunday’s game marked the Titans’ second at home since their 23-10 loss to the New York Jets in Week 1. The team came prepared for this week’s sweltering conditions, with safety Kevin Winston Jr. even having his cleats doused with water during a break on Sunday after an extended time on the field.

“When in Nashville…” Fox Sports: NFL wrote on X alongside a video of the watering-down process.

Sirianni praised both the Eagles and the Titans players for pushing through the unbearable temperatures.

“I didn’t play a snap and I was hot,” Sirianni, 45, said in a postgame press conference. “The guys battled. Again, they just dug deep. I give credit to the Titans. They dug deep, too… It was hot as s–t, and everybody was hot as s–t. It took all hands on deck and, like I said, I didn’t play a snap and I had to get IV.”

“I just so appreciate how much the guys prepared,” he continued. “I so much appreciate how much they fought through, it wasn’t easy. It’s not easy. They fought and they clawed and they scratched and did anything they had to do to get the win.”
