Futurecop! returns with ‘User Not Found’, a hypnotic new single that brings together euphoric electronica, fractured UK rhythms and dreamlike nostalgia. Built from shimmering synthesizers, drum machines, samples and layers of effects, the track explores the uneasy feeling of searching for something familiar in an increasingly digital world.

At the centre of ‘User Not Found’ is a striking tension between opposites. Futuristic yet nostalgic, organic yet electronic, intimate yet expansive, the track moves through glitching textures and restless percussion beneath luminous synths. The result is a cinematic soundscape that could soundtrack a late-night journey through the city, an imagined film sequence or the hazy recollection of somewhere that feels almost familiar.

For Futurecop!, the release represents another step into a new creative era for the project, which has spent almost two decades developing a distinctive electronic identity rooted in cinematic emotion and memory.

Futurecop! is the project of UK-born British-Bangladeshi producer Manzur Iqbal, who founded the project in Manchester in 2007. Since then, he has built a catalogue shaped by dreamlike synths and an instinctive blend of electronic music with the emotional language of film, indie and alternative culture.

That approach has connected with listeners around the world. Since 2015, Futurecop! has accumulated more than 16 million Spotify streams, while the project’s work has continued to move between synth music, electronica and film-inspired soundscapes. Iqbal has also produced official remixes for artists including Kelly Clarkson, Foster The People and Cliff Martinez, with the latter including a remix associated with the 10th anniversary of the Drive soundtrack.

Futurecop!’s music has featured in productions including Roadies, Comet and I’m Totally Fine. More recently, Iqbal expanded further into film scoring, composing the original score for Ghost Punchers, directed by Kalani Hubbard.

The new material draws on the sounds that have accompanied Iqbal throughout his life, bringing together the fractured rhythms of UK garage and grime with the electronic textures of the ’90s and the unmistakable atmosphere of ’80s synth music. Ambient music, broken beats, dream-pop emotion, glitch electronics and organic instrumentation are folded into a contemporary production style, giving Futurecop!’s latest work a sound that feels both deeply personal and constantly in motion.

‘User Not Found’ takes that relationship between past and present and places it inside the language of technology. Its title evokes the familiar coldness of an error message, yet the emotion underneath is considerably more human. The track becomes a meditation on absence, memory and the experience of trying to reconnect with something that may no longer exist in the same form.

In that sense, Futurecop!’s latest single turns a digital phrase into an emotional question. What happens when the person, memory or version of yourself you are searching for can no longer be found? On ‘User Not Found’, Manzur Iqbal explores that question through a rich collision of shimmering electronics, broken rhythms and cinematic atmosphere, creating music that looks towards the future while remaining haunted by the past.
