A vintage Lamborghini once owned by legendary rocker Rod Stewart is up for sale, with bids for the classic car starting at less than $1.

The item is being sold via Lloyds Auction House in Australia, and though the price began at just one Australian dollar, which is less than one U.S. dollar, it now stands at over $215,000 (USD) with bidding open through October.

Originally owned by the Da Ya Think I’m Sexy? hitmaker, 81, the supercar is now the property of Australian businessman and media personality Darryn Lyons, who bought it from a specialist dealer in England, per a press release cited by nine.com.au, who said it was one of his most “treasured possessions.”

Grammy winner Stewart is a known luxury car enthusiast and, in a 2024 Instagram post, explained his passion for the hobby.

“I am extremely fortunate and eternally grateful to be the owner of these five beautiful hybrid sports cars, which, in my opinion, are true ‘works of art’, ” he captioned a shot of himself standing beside his cars.

“I’ve been driving these iconic Italian cars since the seventies, and I absolutely love and adore them. This post is for my fans, thank you, as you are the sole reason I own them,” the rocker added.

In a Lloyds Auction House press release cited by nine.com.au, Lyons said that despite numerous offers to part with his Lamborghini over the years, he’d never been willing to sell until now.

“As a small boy, I dreamed of one day owning and driving a car like this, so when it goes, there will absolutely be a tear,” the businessman said. He added that it had given him a “huge amount of fun over the years,” and was one of the “greatest cars ever built.”

Meanwhile, in April 2025, Stewart shared a throwback photo from 1971 posing with his Lamborghini Miura in the U.K., proving his passion for sports cars is long-held. The singer then shared a more recent photo taken inside his Ferrari with the caption: “Then and now… Some things never change.”

Elsewhere, Stewart has recently announced that he is set to hit the road for one last tour next year after he canceled his upcoming shows following a heart procedure.

“Ladies and gentlemen, after much deliberation and sadness, I have to announce next year will be my last tour ever, ever, ever,” Stewart said in a video message shared on Instagram on Sept. 28. “I’m not retiring, but this will be the last rock and roll tour.”
