But Jen, known for telling it like it is online, shared that it took her time to reach this place of healing.
“I did cry for, like, a month straight,” she added. “And I woke up, and I was like, ‘Maybe I should not do that anymore.’ And then I just was like, ‘I’m gonna live my life because now I get to have my life, you know?’ Which is wonderful.”
Later in the episode, she detailed the split from Brian.
“Got married at 5 months pregnant and then was with him ever since,” Jen said. “I found out about some nefarious things that the man was doing behind my back. Extracurricular activities. Extracurricular activities with a woman 21 years older than me. And so that was confusing.”
Jen claimed that the unnamed woman in question “had grandchildren,” adding, “Your girl was bamboozled.”
After uncovering her husband’s affair, Jen admitted that she experienced some self-doubt, saying, “I had these moments of, like, ‘What’s wrong with me? Like, why me?’ ”
PEOPLE previously reached out to Brian and Jen for comment on Jen’s claims of infidelity.
However, after crying in bed one day, her mood and attitude toward the split changed.
“My olfactory nerve in my nose was like, ‘It smells like him.’ You know, like, his ass was here. You know? And I called my mom,” she recalled. “I was like, I need new sheets right this second. So my mom and dad came and picked me and my kids up, and we went up and we found some pink sheets. And then I invited all of my friends from work over and we burned my bedsheets, which I feel like was such a moment.”

Things changed when Jen decided, “This has not happened to me. I’m not gonna be the victim in this. This is happening for me.”
She added that the dramatic end to her marriage had to be extreme for her to leave.
“It needed to be as bad as it was in order for me to leave because I forgave so freaking much in the marriage,” she explained. “So it was the push that I needed to be free.”
During a Q&A attended by PEOPLE at the woman-owned champagne bar RBF in Cary, N.C. on Sept. 24, Hamilton noted that she made a “distinct choice” to go public with her divorce. “I could have very easily done what a lot of women do, and hide the shame and take on the shame as my own. Well, guess what? It’s not my shame. I decided that I wasn’t gonna be his PR manager anymore. I share everything else publicly, so it would be inauthentic of me to not [share my divorce publicly].”
