Céline Dion took a tumble onstage during the latest show of her comeback residency.
The Canadian singer, 58, was performing at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre, a western suburb of Paris, on Wednesday, Oct. 7, when she appeared to slip over midway through her 1998 song “Dans un autre monde.”
In video footage from the concert, Dion’s pants can be seen getting caught on one of her heels, causing her to collapse on the stage.
She didn’t appear to come away with any serious injuries, however; she got back up and continued with the song as normal just a second later.
Shortly after, Dion began to perform her 1995 classic “Pour que tu m’aimes encore,” after changing into a black dress, when she whispered to the audience that she had forgotten the lyrics, prompting them to sing along with her.

She appeared moved by their support, apologizing and thanking them. “Thank goodness you’re here,” she said, translated from French. “It made my heart swell. It touched me so deeply.”
The Queen of Power Ballads is currently partway through a limited five-week residency at the arena that marks her return to live music, after she shared in December 2022 that she’d been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a neurological disorder that affects the muscles. Another residency at the arena is scheduled for May 2027.
She told PEOPLE in a 2024 cover story that she struggled to accept her health struggles. “I didn’t want to stop,” she said. “I wanted to stay onstage. I wanted to be brave instead of smart. That was wrong.”
Since making her diagnosis public, Dion had made limited appearances in concert, performing the Édith Piaf classic ‘Hymne à l’amour’ at the Olympic Opening Ceremony in Paris in July 2024, and two songs at The 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab fashion show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that November.
The first show of her Paris residency, on Saturday, Sept. 12, marked her first full-length concert since March 8, 2020. After the New Jersey show, the rest of her Courage tour was postponed due to the onset of COVID-19, with the rescheduled shows later canceled due to health complications relating to her diagnosis.
During the Sept. 12 show, she broke down in tears during the opener, 1998’s “On ne change pas,” and later addressed fans about her promise to return to the stage for them.
“There are many of you here tonight from all over the world,” she told the concertgoers. “Thank you so very much for coming. If it’s your first time in Paris, I hope you fall in love with it, just like I did. Finally, it’s amazing we are all together.”
She continued, “I made a promise. I made a promise to come back, to be back on stage. So here I am, singing for you and singing for me, singing life! Thank you so very much for your support, your patience and if I may say so: I am everything I am because you loved me.”
After her third show, on Friday, Sept. 18, she thrilled fans by singing and dancing barefoot on the hood of a car before saying goodbye with a hand-heart gesture. The moment, which fans shared on social media, took place outside a Paris hotel.

In a Harper’s Bazaar cover story published before the start of her residency, Dion said the shows were her way of showing support to her fans. “It’s been so long, I would like to offer them something to show how I’ve missed them,” she said.
She added, in a statement on her website upon announcing her return to the stage, “Over the last few years, every day that’s gone by, I’ve felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love. You’ve helped me in ways that I can’t even describe, and I’m truly fortunate to have your support.”
