With so many celebrities wearing retro jeans lately, I’m feeling inspired to embrace ’90s silhouettes for fall.

As it happens, the popular Levi’s jeans I’ve been eyeing for weeks are on sale at Amazon. I love nostalgic details, and the Levi’s Ribcage Straight Jeans deliver plenty, including a sleek silhouette and distressed wash. And as a petite woman, I appreciate their high waistband’s leg-lengthening effect. Now that they’re on sale for $51, I’m grabbing a pair to instantly upgrade my casual outfits.

These ribcage jeans are made with stretchy cotton and create “a flattering silhouette without feeling overly restrictive,” per one shopper, who also said they gave them a “confidence boost.” Their tapered straight-leg cut offers a crisp presentation, and thanks to their modest hemline openings, they fit over Chelsea boots — a major plus for fall. 

The main reason these jeans made me stop mid-scroll? As their name suggests, their rib-grazing waistband balances outfit proportions, making “legs look longer and not so stubby,” according to one shopper. Plus, they have a discreet tummy-contouring effect. Another shopper even said they’re “the only ‘high-waisted’ jeans that have ever met my expectations.” 

Their retro details allow for creative styling, too. Given their light-blue distressed wash and whiskering effect, I’d match them with a basic white T-shirt and a brown bomber jacket for a cute ’90s-inspired look.
