“Unfortunately, I will have to miss tonight’s game in Chicago due to a health issue,” he said in a statement released by the network. “I look forward to watching tonight and can’t wait to be back with Cris [Collinsworth], Melissa [Stark] and the rest of our SNF team next Sunday night in Cincinnati.”

Tirico is a play-by-play broadcaster for NBC, and has been the voice of Sunday Night Football since 2022, when he replaced Al Michaels. Prior to that, he spent decades with ESPN, and was the play-by-play announcer for Monday Night Football from 2006 to 2015.

Tirico is also known for commentary on the Olympics and the NBA.

Eagle, 29, is a play-by-play broadcaster for NBC Sports, and is in his fourth season calling the weekly primetime Big Ten Football game on NBC and Peacock.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to play the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday, Nov. 8.

Tirico plans to return for the Sunday Night Football game on Nov. 15, which will see the Pittsburgh Steelers play the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.

In 2025, the broadcaster suffered an allergic reaction at the Kentucky Derby due to a lifelong nut allergy. He later said on the Today show that he’s usually “very, very careful,” but ate something that activated it, and was treated by EMTs.
