Jason Momoa is all about 'ohana.

The Wrecking Crew star shares two children with his ex-wife, Lisa Bonet: daughter Lola Iolani, born in July 2007, and son Nakoa-Wolf, born in December 2008. Bonet also has an older daughter, Zoë Kravitz, from her first marriage to Lenny Kravitz.

Although the couple parted ways in January 2022 after nearly five years of marriage and formally filed to dissolve their union in January 2024, Momoa still considers Bonet and Zoë his family.

As Lola and Nakoa-Wolf grow older, their famous father has had to learn to embrace his role as a not-so-hip dad.

"I spent a lot of time with them when they were younger, which is super important. Then they traveled with me quite a bit. But now, going into high school, they've got their friends and stuff," Momoa told PEOPLE in March 2024.

He jokingly added, "They still like me, which is good. I'm probably losing cool factor daily."

Chief Dad

Nakoa-Wolf and Lola flanked their famous father at the Chief of War premiere in Hawaii in July 2025.

Momoa marked the sweet moment with his kids by wearing coordinating "family capes," as he told PEOPLE. He also shared that this was "the greatest moment of my career."

"You want to have your loved ones [there]," he said.

In a sweet moment captured by PEOPLE, Momoa paused his interview to give a quick hello to his kids, saying, "Hi son, hi daughter!" from across the carpet. His girlfriend, Adria Arjona, was also there with them.

Father-Daughter Duo

Lola and Momoa looked ready to hit the road at the L.A. premiere of The Bikeriders in June 2024.

The pair dressed for the occasion, with Lola rocking a black leather coat and skull T-shirt, while her dad sported a jacket from the Indigenous-based Redrum Motorcycle Club.

Both complemented their looks with matching black sunglasses.

"WOW so exciting to see my friends in this movie," Momoa wrote of the experience on Instagram, adding, "Love u lola bear and all my friends for coming."

Three Generations of Momoas

Momoa shared an extra special Father’s Day carousel on Instagram in June 2024, which included a sweet snapshot of The Flash star with his father Joseph and son Nakoa-Wolf enjoying the holiday at the beach.

Eco-Friendly Family Time

In January 2024, Lola and Nakoa-Wolf supported their dad at a special L.A. screening of the documentary Common Ground in Beverly Hills. Momoa was one of several celebrities interviewed in the eco-friendly doc, which screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in early 2023 and took home the 2023 Human/Nature Award.

Sharing the Spotlight

Momoa and his children walked the red carpet for his Netflix film Slumberland in November 2022.

While Momoa was being interviewed by E! News, Lola jumped in to share that she spent a lot of time on set with her dad.

"We were there for most of the time," she revealed. "It was incredible. Me and my friends choreographed a dance routine to 'Don't Start Now' by Dua Lipa, and my dad loved the dance, so he put it in the movie."

Momoa even shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the routine on Instagram.

Supporting Dad's Efforts

Momoa took his children with him to the UN Ocean Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, in June 2022, where the UN Environment Programme named the actor an Advocate for Life Below Water for his efforts to support water conservation and environmentalism.

"Papa loves you babies mahalo for standing by my side," he wrote of the experience on Instagram.

Supporting Family

In March 2022, Momoa took Lola and Nakoa-Wolf to support his stepdaughter Zoë at the N.Y.C. premiere of The Batman.

Zoë, who played Catwoman in the film, was supported by then-boyfriend Channing Tatum, who also flew in alongside Momoa to cheer her on. (Zoë and Tatum got engaged in October 2023 but split one year later in 2024.)

Although Momoa and Bonet were no longer together by then, the Fast X star told Entertainment Tonight that he remained close to Zoë and was thrilled to support her on her big night.

"Lisa couldn't be here so we're representing, me and the babies," he said. "We're very excited to just be here. … It's still family, you know?"

Growing up with a Hollywood A-lister as a dad has its perks, and walking red carpets is one of them. Momoa included his kiddos, then 14 and 12, at the London premiere of No Time to Die in 2021, and he ensured they were just as well-dressed — and well-coiffed! — as he was.

The "Cool Dad" Award Goes To …

The No Time to Die premiere was definitely one Momoa's kids won't ever forget — it was also the day they were introduced to the one and only Billie Eilish!

Eilish and her brother Finneas wrote and recorded the film's titular theme song, which won Best Original Song at the 2022 Academy Awards.

Raised by Da Hui surf group (which translates to "the pack" or "family"), the Hawaiian native is passing down the torch to his children, teaching them to be the next "guardians of the oceans," as he wrote on Instagram in September 2019.

In July 2019, Momoa planned a special screening of The Lion King to celebrate Lola's 12th birthday.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVEE. I'm so thankful to be home with my ohana," he captioned an Instagram slideshow of photos from the fun day, including one with Lola, Nakoa-Wolf and Bonet. "Big mahalos to @disney @disneystudios for letting us have a party for our Lola Bear."

The West Coast crew packed up and flew east to watch Momoa make a few late-night appearances in N.Y.C.

Following his January 2018 Tonight Show stint, during which his Aquaman battled it out with Jimmy Fallon in a segment, the Dune actor and his kids made a quick pit stop at the Saturday Night Live studio.

Rockstar Run-Ins

The massive music fan took Lola and Nakoa-Wolf to a Guns N' Roses concert in November 2017, where they met legendary rock star Slash backstage.

"Dream come true my kids getting to meet SLASH😜😜😜😜😝😝," Momoa captioned a photo of the four on Instagram. "mahalo braddah epic night."

A longtime fan of the guitarist, Momoa also interviewed Slash in September 2020, an admittedly nerve-wracking experience that turned out to be an "epic" one for the actor.

In December 2024, the A Minecraft Movie star continued his rock star dad streak by bringing his kids to their first Metallica concert, captioning his Instagram slideshow from the night in part, "Happiest papa in the world."

Momoa is a musician himself — he plays bass in the rock group ÖOF TATATÁ.

Known for high-action films like Justice League (2017) and Aquaman (2018), Momoa's characters require him to be in tip-top shape — a demand the actor doesn't take lightly.

Boxing is one of his favorite training methods, a workout his kids seem to enjoy as well. We can only imagine it helped Momoa for his role as Blanka in 2026's Street Fighter, too.

Momoa's titular character in the Justice League's Aquaman is synonymous with being covered in head-to-toe tattoos — and naturally, his kids wanted in on the ink action as well!

"Raising sensitive savages," he wrote on Instagram in August 2017 of this shot of his tattooed family. "Priceless day on set proud to be aqua papa."

While Momoa's detailed designs were fake for the 2018 film and its sequel, the actor does have tats of his own, which were included in the movie.

Born in Hawaii on the island of Oahu, Momoa is passionate about his roots and ensures his kids are instilled with the Hawaiian culture he knows and loves.

Whether surfing or swimming, the actor often spends time at the beach, teaching his kids to embrace and respect the ocean.
