The singer and actress, 33, received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, while looking like a true rockstar in a grungy gown with tousled hair complemented by sleek and smokey makeup that exclusively used Maybelline New York products. Cyrus’ flawless-looking skin was in part thanks to the Maybelline New York Lifter Plump and Glow Foundation, a sheer base that can be built up for more coverage. Daoud tells PEOPLE, “I chose the products to enhance Miley’s natural skin and features while keeping everything fresh, effortless, and slightly undone. We wanted polished skin that still looked like real skin.”

Daoud paired the foundation with the Lifter Serum Concealer from the same line. She describes the combination as “very skin-like” and explains, “They brighten and smooth without looking heavy or dry… They’re easy, flattering staples that instantly make the skin and eyes look fresh and more awake.”

Daoud shares that Cyrus “loved the Serum Lipstick Satin in Upstate,” which gave her pout a “cool, lived-in feel [that] she always gravitates toward.” The now-$5 lipstick has hyaluronic acid and a blend of oils that hydrate and plump the lips as it gives them a hint of color.

Daoud also used this tubing mascara to give “Miley’s lashes length, separation, and definition without feeling heavy.” It “made her lashes stand out while still keeping the overall look soft and effortless.” Bonus: The formula wraps around the lashes and is only activated with water, so you don’t have to worry about smudges or flakes.
