August’s astrology will be one for the books!
With two eclipses and a parade of planets changing signs, the cosmos is bringing more than enough intrigue to keep the drama alive and breathing.
However, it begins on a charming note as Venus will slip into its domicile Libra on Aug. 6, putting relationships, aesthetics and social dynamics in a flattering light.
We’re collectively more willing to negotiate and compromise at this time, making our personal and professional exchanges feel like a breath of fresh air.
That same day, the sun will meet with Saturn in Aries, encouraging us to establish a sense of discipline and structure when it comes to our passion projects and heart’s desires.
This is followed by Mercury’s debut in Leo on Aug. 9, making our communication warmer, louder and theatrical, which is fun until pride and arrogance enter the chat. (Be nice!)
Then, on Aug. 10 and 11, love planet Venus will meet with Pluto, Neptune and Uranus, while Mercury makes a tricky opposition to Pluto.
To say this is a complicated energy would be an understatement, as it could be just as attractive and intoxicating as it is shocking and revelatory when it comes to matters of love, friendship and finances.
Go-getter Mars will slip into Cancer on Aug. 11, too, shifting the collective energy toward family, security and emotional territory.
The red planet doesn’t care to journey through this Water sign — given its introspective and emotional nature — but that doesn’t mean it can’t be harnessed correctly.
In fact, this is where our motivations become personal and perhaps even slightly irritating, especially if repressed emotions or sensitivities rise to the surface.
Then comes the month’s biggest event, which is the total solar eclipse in Leo, kicking off a brand-new chapter around visibility, confidence, courage and self-expression.
This lunar eclipse will occur at exactly 20 degrees of Leo, followed by a lunar eclipse in Pisces on Aug. 28, setting the stage for a big purge and emotional release.
Keep in mind that Mercury will be making supportive connections with Uranus, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn between Aug. 12 and 17, and this can spark an exciting idea, introduction or heart-to-heart conversation.
A Mercury-Jupiter conjunction on Aug. 15 is also particularly expansive, encouraging confidence, bigger-picture thinking and above all, authenticity. However, there is such a thing as being overly enthusiastic, so check yourself if need be.
Around Aug. 17, Mars will clash with Neptune, which can put a damper on our collective emotions. Mixed signals, vague expectations or something as simple as literal exhaustion could complicate situations.
However, once the sun enters Virgo on Aug. 22 and Mercury follows on Aug. 25, we go from spectacle (Leo) to scrutiny (Virgo).
Details matter, timelines become top of mind and a workable system becomes non-negotiable.
A resourceful Mercury cazimi in Virgo on Aug. 27 can help bring a long-overdue breakthrough in your day-to-day life, whether it be work-related or in terms of health and wellness.
Just a day later, Mercury and the sun will square Uranus as a partial lunar eclipse arrives in Pisces, disrupting plans while bringing something significant to a complete stop.
This ending (or full-circle moment) may look different from what we originally envisioned, but it’s important to make peace with the fact that something has officially served its purpose.
August comes to a close with Jupiter in Leo meeting up with Saturn in Aries on Aug. 31, merging confidence with commitment, and expansion with structure.
Our goals and dreams will require a lot more than wanting to be seen, so make the commitment to build and create something substantial and long-lasting, because an “applause” simply won’t cut it.
In the meantime, read on for what August has in store for your zodiac sign.
Aries (March 20-April 19)

A creative project or romantic situation could get serious fast, Aries. The total solar eclipse in Leo could spark a creative breakthrough, spicy love affair or an invitation that puts more attention on you than expected, while Mercury’s conjunction with Jupiter in Leo turns a casual idea into a public-facing opportunity or viral moment. The catch? Your celestial ruler, Mars, enters Cancer this month — where it will eventually face off with Neptune in your sign — making home obligations, family drama or emotional fatigue hard to ignore. All in all, this month asks you to be honest with yourself: what are you passionate about and what are you doing to make it a part of your life?
Taurus (April 19-May 20)

Home and family matters are top of mind this month, and may require a major decision, Taurus. The solar eclipse in Leo, for instance, could coincide with a move, renovation project, family announcement or personal decision, while Mercury opposite Pluto could expose a power struggle between your personal needs and expectations in your professional life, or from your higher-ups. Fortunately, Venus in Libra helps ease the situation at work and with your day-to-day logistics, but the lunar eclipse in Pisces could shed light on a friendship or group commitment that’s run its course. Just know that the foundation you seek may require disappointing people around you who don’t share similar hopes and dreams.
Gemini (May 20-June 20)

Change of plans, Gemini? Never say never, because a significant exchange could bring a change of plans. Mercury entering Leo, for instance, will turn up the heat in your immediate environment, whether that’s texting your crush or doing something creative. The messenger planet will also meet with Jupiter and Uranus in your sign, bringing opportunities for work and conversations that could change everything. You could suddenly be asked to share your ideas in a room of people who can actually do something with them. By the lunar eclipse in Pisces, a career goal could start to look a little different, especially once you understand the workload that comes with it.
Cancer (June 21-July 21)

Save some for a rainy day, Cancer. Money could become an issue you can no longer ignore. The solar eclipse in Leo, for instance, can kick off a brand-new chapter surrounding your income streams, talent pricing or personal resources, while Mercury’s meet-cute with Jupiter presents you with a promising offer, profitable idea or overdue conversation about compensation. That raise at work could come sooner than you think! Mars will also return to your sign this month, which not only gives you the nerve, but the emotional audacity to take a stand. Keep in mind, Mars will also clash with Neptune, which could make you reactive when others are being vague. Later this month, the partial lunar eclipse could bring a goal, travel or publishing opportunity full circle.
Leo (July 22-Aug. 22)

You’re the main character this month, and in more ways than one, Leo. The total solar eclipse in your sign could coincide with a new role or personal reinvention that changes the way others perceive you. After entering your sign, savvy Mercury will meet with lucky Jupiter, heightening your confidence and voice. The messenger planet will also make an opposition to powerhouse Pluto, suggesting that a significant partnership could potentially challenge your point of view, or plans for the future. As for the lunar eclipse, this super potent full moon will bring emphasis to your eighth house of debt, intimate affairs and shared resources. This could also be a time of release.
Virgo (Aug. 22-Sept. 22)

It’s liberating to be honest with yourself, Virgo. You could finally admit what is no longer working this month. In fact, the solar eclipse in Leo could shed light on everything from exhaustion and unconscious patterns to hidden resentments. However, once the sun and Mercury enter your sign — and join forces in a Cazimi — the fog begins to clear and a personal decision comes into focus. Keep in mind, the lunar eclipse in Pisces could bring a relationship turning point, perhaps even one that’s been long overdue. Whether it’s commitment, emotional availability or unequal efforts, you’re no longer taking chances.
Libra (Sept. 22-Oct. 22)

You could love the attention you’re getting, but it could come with complicated expectations, Libra. The highlight of your month? Your celestial ruler, Venus, returns to your sign, heightening everything from your confidence and visibility to your irresistible charm. However, its alignment with Pluto and Uranus could set the stage for an intense attraction you weren’t expecting or perhaps a friendship that quickly becomes something more. The love planet will eventually clash with Neptune and Saturn, which could complicate the fantasy or ideal scenario surrounding a situation, but it’s better to take off your rose-colored glasses before it’s too late. The lunar eclipse in Pisces could also leave you with no choice but to make an adjustment at work or with your health habits.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)

Have courage, because your career could take a noticeable turn, Scorpio. Leave it to the total solar eclipse in Leo to present you with a leadership role or perhaps increase your level of visibility. Still, while Mercury makes an opposition to your modern ruler, Pluto, this alignment could uncover a control issue (or misuse of power) involving an authority figure, client or family member. Mars in Cancer, on the other hand, encourages you to think bigger and trust your intuition, specifically when it comes to travel, education or publishing. However, its square to Neptune could result in vague promises and glamorous plans with no follow-through. By the lunar eclipse in Pisces at the end of the month, a romantic affair or creative venture could come to a close, or a turning point of sorts.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22–Dec. 21)

A bigger opportunity may require real sacrifice, Sagittarius. The solar eclipse in Leo, for instance, could bring travel, publishing or legal developments your way, while Mercury’s conjunction with your lucky planetary ruler, Jupiter, amplifies your voice through teaching, media or a wider platform. Charming Venus in Libra will also bring harmony to your friendships and community, supporting opportunistic introductions and meet-cutes. Mars square Neptune, on the other hand, could make shared finances, family expectations or emotional obligations more difficult to navigate. August comes to a close with a lunar eclipse in Pisces, bringing a move, family conclusion or home-related decision to the forefront.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)

Read the fine print before you make an agreement this month, Capricorn. Shared finances may need a closer look, especially as the solar eclipse in Leo touches down on your eighth house of intimate affairs, mergers and transformation. This could bring a turning point to everything from debts and taxes to your shared ventures or a partner’s income. Mercury will also make opposition to Pluto, which can also shed light on who or what’s been controlling the narrative around money. The good news is that Venus in Libra can improve professional visibility, making negotiations and professional opportunities all the more graceful and prosperous. A Mercury Cazimi in Virgo later in the month can also help you catch an important contractual or logistical detail, so keep your eyes peeled. Lastly, the lunar eclipse in Pisces could deliver news that results in a change of plans.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)

How does it feel to have the North Node in your sign, Aquarius? This month, a relationship could reach a defining turning point. The solar eclipse in Leo, for instance, can kick off a major chapter in your partnerships, whether romantic, professional or contractual. Mercury will also make a conjunction with lucky Jupiter, which can bring an exciting proposal, declaration or significant agreement your way. Love planet Venus will also harmonize with rebellious Uranus, adding a layer of chemistry and spontaneity to your worldview, whether it’s a long-distance crush or a new income stream. The lunar eclipse in Pisces will also put money, self-worth and matters of compensation under a microscope at the end of the month.
Pisces (Feb. 18-March 20)

Something’s gotta give, and this month is making that crystal clear, Pisces. Your schedule and boundaries need a serious overhaul, but the cosmos is here to save the day. Starting with the solar eclipse in Leo, this could bring a new role, assignment, health routine or staffing change, while Mercury’s close proximity to lucky Jupiter brings a stroke of luck to this area of your life. Meanwhile, Mars in Cancer comes in to restore everything from your creative momentum to your romantic desires, but Mars’ square to Neptune makes ideal scenarios difficult to resist. Don’t fall for it if you don’t have all the details. The best part? The month comes to a close with an eclipse in your sign, and it’s the last of this series. Still, this super potent lunation comes with a full-circle moment around your identity and emotional boundaries.
