Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Brosnan are celebrating 25 years of marriage.

In honor of their milestone wedding anniversary, Keely, 62, shared a sweet tribute to her husband, 73, on Instagram on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

“Happy 25th wedding anniversary my love! What an adventure life is with you,” the journalist, producer, director and activist captioned a mix of throwback and recent photos of the couple throughout their long-term relationship.

She continued, “Looking forward to the next 25 years beside you @piercebrosnanofficial ♥️.”

Keely’s carousel showcased casual and formal moments between the pair, including a few snaps of them smooching on the red carpet.

The couple wed in 2001 after seven years of dating.

They met in Mexico in 1994, about two years after the Irish actor lost his first wife and mother of three children Cassandra to ovarian cancer. At the time, Keely was sent to interview Ted Danson, but when the actor was called away, she connected with the Mamma Mia! star at a party.

Reflecting on their first meeting, Keely told PEOPLE in 2001 that she found Pierce “captivating,” adding that he was “tall, dark and handsome — everything that everybody would immediately be attracted to. He had this mischievous sparkle in his eyes. I thought, ‘Wow! Wow!’ ”

Of her husband, she added, “I understand why women find him sexy, because he is an appealing man. He really likes and appreciates women. … He’s intelligent, captivating and his real beauty emanates from the soul. And, like a fine wine, he’s aging beautifully.”

Pierce had similarly lovely things to say about his other half, telling PEOPLE, “I found a great woman in Keely Shaye. Not if I searched a million times over would I find one as good.”

Pierce and Keely went on to welcome two sons: Dylan, 29, and Paris, 25. Pierce is also a father to sons Christopher, 53, and Sean, 42, whom he welcomed with his late first wife. His daughter, Charlotte, died from ovarian cancer at 41 in 2013.

In 2022, the Brosnans spoke with PEOPLE about the secret to their lasting love, crediting their friendship.
