KALEO are heading back Down Under, with the Icelandic rock band announcing their Way Down Under We Go Tour of Australia and New Zealand for February 2027.
The tour arrives as KALEO are back on the road internationally, beginning their latest world tour with a 28-date North American run this month. For a band that emerged from Mosfellsbær, on the outskirts of Reykjavík, their trajectory over the past decade has taken them a considerable distance from those Icelandic beginnings.
Formed in 2012, KALEO bring together vocalist and guitarist JJ Julius Son, drummer David Antonsson, bassist Daniel Kristjansson and guitarist Rubin Pollock. Their music draws from blues rock, folk and alternative rock, with Julius Son’s distinctive vocal sitting at the centre of a sound capable of moving between restrained acoustic passages and considerably heavier terrain.
Their international breakthrough came with 2016 album A/B, home to ‘Way Down We Go’, ‘All The Pretty Girls’ and ‘No Good’. The record transformed the band’s reach, while ‘Way Down We Go’ developed a particularly long afterlife beyond the album itself.
The song has now accumulated close to four billion streams worldwide, while KALEO’s catalogue has passed six billion global streams and collected more than 70 Gold, Platinum and Diamond certifications. ‘Way Down We Go’ has also become ubiquitous across film, television, advertising and social media, while the band’s music has appeared in series including Yellowstone, The Morning Show, Grey’s Anatomy, Law & Order and Suits.
But KALEO have never been solely a streaming phenomenon. Their touring history has taken them through major international festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo, alongside extensive headline runs across North America and Europe.
Four studio albums in, the band’s most recent full-length release is 2025’s Mixed Emotions. That was followed in June this year by the A/B 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, bringing fresh attention to the record that first pushed KALEO onto the international stage.
The aptly named Way Down Under We Go Tour now brings that anniversary into the live setting, balancing the legacy of A/B with a catalogue that has continued to expand in the decade since its release.
The Frontier Members presale begins Wednesday August 26 at 1pm local time, before general tickets go on sale Friday August 28 at 2pm local time.
