He starts this new series about incredible but endangered birds in Kenya, where the martial eagle – huge yellow eyes, terrifying talons, thighs of steel – blows him away. She’s now shacked up with DI Kirsten Longacre (Rose Leslie) and, to everyone’s slight surprise, it’s Longacre who has been selected to investigate a diplomatically sensitive murder in the Arctic. The magnificent Vicky McClure returns as flinty explosives officer Lana “Wash” Washington for a fourth series of this slick bomb disposal thriller. Judging by Wash’s fraught therapy sessions, her high-stress job is taking its toll. But when a C4-laden truck starts rolling toward central London, she dives into peril without hesitation. The horror of this drama lies in the knowledge that, while the dysfunction of the mental institution is real, so is the distress and confusion of the inmates. The paranoia experienced by Pepper and Coffee is manifesting in ever more outlandish theories – another excuse for the fiendish Dr Walter to intervene again. PH

The fallout from Australian EDM DJ Olivia Nervo’s relationship with businessman Matthew Pringle travelled as far as the Houses of Parliament as it was seen as a possible example of reproductive coercion. The second series of this documentary about romantic fraud and manipulation explores the case in all of its grimness. PH
