Busy Philipps is celebrating a milestone in her health journey.
On Thursday, Sept. 3, the 47-year-old actress posted a carousel of photos on Instagram marking six months since she underwent brain tumor surgery.
“YESTERDAY WAS 6 MONTHS SINCE MY BRAIN SURGERY REMOVED THAT TUMOR FROM MY BRAIN! 🧠 🎉🙌” she wrote.
The actress then shared a screenshot of a text exchange with her daughter, Birdie, 18, joking about how people believe she’s “dying” after sharing her health scare publicly.
“Someone on Insta asked how long you had to live,” her daughter wrote, to which Philipps replied, “F–k, lol that’s so insane.”
“They think ur dying queen,” Birdie added. The mom of two then wrote, “Well won’t they be pleasantly surprised??”

In another photo, Philipps was dressed in a medical gown posing for a mirror selfie. She shared: “Well guess what? My mammogram was all clear too! Woo!”
In a PEOPLE cover story last month, Philipps revealed that a Prenuvo scan led to her being diagnosed with a grade 2 oligodendroglioma, a malignant but highly treatable brain tumor.
After undergoing brain surgery to remove the tumor in March and an unexpected debridement surgery the following month, Philipps told PEOPLE that she’s “grateful that I’m alive” and called the health journey “the weirdest six months of my life.”
However, she hopes being transparent about her experience can be a lesson for others to stay on top of their health and trust their instincts.
“We are frequently told by doctors that there is nothing to worry about [when] you kind of know that there’s something to worry about,” Philipps said. “There’s nothing to be afraid of in having information. It’s only empowering.”
