Lin-Manuel Miranda is celebrating 16 years of marriage to Vanessa Nadal.
The Hamilton creator, 46, and the legal professional, 44, tied the knot in New York in 2010. Miranda marked their 16th wedding anniversary on Instagram with a heartfelt tribute to his wife on Saturday, Sept. 5.
“16 years married today,” Miranda wrote alongside several loved-up throwback photos of the couple throughout their relationship.

He continued, “And the world has grown beyond our subway map, but everything is still easier when you’re home. Love you V. Lemme earn that dimple.”
The couple’s wedding designer, Belle Fleur New York, also marked the anniversary on Instagram, posting wedding photos and reflecting on how Miranda and Nadal were “one of the most in-love couples” they’d ever met and worked with.

A highlight from the wedding celebration at the Belvedere Mansion was the wedding party, Miranda, and Nadal’s father surprising her with a choreographed routine to “To Life” from Fiddler on the Roof.
Although Miranda and Nadal attended the same high school, they didn’t romantically connect until 2005 after Miranda reached out to Nadal over Facebook and invited her to see him in a Freestyle Love Supreme show. Soon after, they fell in love, and got engaged in Madrid in October 2009. They said “I do” the following year.
In the years that followed, the pair grew their family, first with the birth of their son Sebastian, 11, in November 2014 and then with the arrival of their second son, Francisco, 8, in February 2018.

Speaking to Access Hollywood in 2020, Miranda shared the secret to keeping his marriage strong.
“The secret is to keep sharing what you’re passionate about,” he said. “We evolve, and just staying checked in is the most important thing.”
