Phoebe Bridgers kept it real at the Venice Film Festival.

Bridgers, 32, shared a candid Instagram post from her Venice Film Festival debut on Monday, Sept. 7. After the fanfare of the red carpet, the Lost Weekend artist included a selfie in which she grins while revealing an armpit sweat stain on her elegant ensemble.

In other photos, Bridgers showcased the airy ensemble—an Alexander McQueen fall 2026 whimsical floral lace evening gown with a sheer bodice in a slate gray shade, paired with the Cartier Nigeria ring and the Leo Black signet, per Vogue. She wore her signature platinum blonde hair in a windswept updo.

“PRIMETIME ! 🇮🇹” the Grammy winner captioned the post, in reference to the upcoming A24 film Primetime, in which she will make her acting debut.

Earlier during the festival, Bridgers wore a different look that left her leg hair visible. She opted for a sharp, tailored black Gucci skirt suit from Gucci’s fall 2026 collection, per Vogue. She accessorized with Gucci oval-frame sunglasses and Stuart Weitzman Babette Mary Jane style pumps.

Fans of the indie rock musician are praising her for normalizing women’s body hair on the red carpet.

“The sweat stains make me feel seen,” one fan wrote in Bridgers’ Instagram comments. “People’s princess,” another chimed in.

Bridgers joins a growing list of celebrities embracing their natural body hair on the red carpet and during other press appearances, including Rachel McAdams, Madonna, Amandla Stenberg, and more in recent years.

In 1999, Julia Roberts memorably showed off her unshaven underarms at the London premiere of rom-com Notting Hill, in a moment that would change the public perception of women’s body hair. On a November 2018 episode of Busy Tonight, Roberts, 58, reflected on the public’s reaction to the moment.

“The picture is vivid in my mind, actually, from that moment,” Roberts said at the time. “I think I just hadn’t really calculated my sleeve length and the waving, and how those two things would go together and reveal personal things about me. So it wasn’t so much a statement as it’s just part of the statement I make as a human on the planet, for myself.”

Bridgers will star in Primetime opposite Robert Pattinson, Skyler Gisondo, Anna Faris, and more. The film will follow the downfall of NBC’s polarizing show To Catch a Predator, with Pattinson, 40, playing the show’s host, Chris Hansen. Bridgers will appear as Del Harvey, a woman posing as decoy minors in the show’s sting operations.

Director Lance Oppenheim previously explained why he chose to cast Bridgers in the role in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“I’ve always known her to have an incredibly deep, almost baritone speaking voice, and I was then amazed that someone who had such a deep speaking voice could produce this beautiful, angelic singing voice,” Oppenheim told the outlet. “With how she’s able to use her voice in different environments, I kept thinking, ‘That’s exactly what a decoy would do.’”

Primetime hits theaters on Sept. 25.
