Left Arm Tan return with ‘Amsterdam’, the latest single from the Fort Worth, Texas six-piece Americana outfit, arriving as both a continuation of their creative resurgence and a further glimpse into their forthcoming album, When Tigers Smoked.

Released in the wake of August’s triumphant ‘Rolling Under The Stars’, ‘Amsterdam’ finds the band working with a measured confidence that allows every element of the arrangement room to breathe. Stripped back but never sparse, the track retains the roots of its Texas upbringing while drawing on traditional folk influences from across Europe, occupying a space somewhere between the tavern and the taverna.

There is an understated precision to the single. Melodies feel purposeful, instrumentation is carefully considered, and nothing appears to have been added simply for effect.
