Malcolm Todd is heading back to Australia in May 2027, bringing his ‘Do That Again’ tour Down Under with Australian duo Maden Lane joining him across all dates.

It has been a fast few years for the Los Angeles singer-songwriter and guitarist. Todd first found a sizeable audience on TikTok in 2023 with ‘Art House’ and ‘Roommates’, songs that eventually landed on his 2024 mixtape ‘Sweet Boy’. That early buzz led to a deal with Columbia Records and, more importantly, proved there was an audience for his slightly wonky meeting point between indie pop and alternative R&B.

His self-titled debut album followed in 2025, reaching No. 49 on the Billboard 200 and producing ‘Chest Pain (I Love)’, Todd’s first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100. But 2026 pushed things up another gear when ‘Earrings’, originally released two years earlier, suddenly took off internationally. The sleeper hit reached No. 20 in the US and cracked the Top 40 in several other countries.

Todd has kept that momentum moving with second album ‘Do That Again’. The record reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200, while ‘Obsessica’ has added another viral moment to a catalogue that seems particularly good at finding its audience online before spilling out into the wider world.

Musically, Todd sits somewhere between indie pop, bedroom pop and alternative R&B, with Steve Lacy, Omar Apollo, Dominic Fike and Ryan Beatty among the artists who have shaped his approach. There is also a slightly nerdier side to his songwriting, with Todd fond of reaching for less obvious chords rather than taking the easiest route through a pop song.
