Beneath the Forum Theatre’s ornate ceiling and old-world grandeur, Los Angeles trio HEALTH brought a very different architecture to the room: industrial electronics, punishing low end and flashes of melody that cut through the darkness.

Support was provided by Perturbator and King Yosef who made the bill feel less like a conventional support-headliner arrangement and more like three different routes into the same dark corner.

King Yosef wasted little time dragging the Forum into darker territory. The American producer and artist moved freely between industrial, noise, metal and electronica, welding hardcore intensity to mechanical electronics and serrated edges.

Perturbator, the French darksynth pioneer unleashed his cyberpunk collision of industrial, post-punk and electronica. Drawing from a catalogue spanning six albums and several EPs, including 2025’s Age of Aquarius, he wrapped the Forum in distortion, pounding rhythms and dystopian atmosphere.

By the time HEALTH took over, the Forum had shifted from grand Melbourne theatre to something altogether more severe.

HEALTH have spent nearly two decades making beauty and abrasion uneasy bedfellows. Formed in Los Angeles and emerging with their self-titled debut in 2007, the band have steadily carved out a space that belongs almost entirely to them, dragging industrial music towards pop without sanding down its harsher edges. Six albums fhave ollowed, alongside collaborations with Nine Inch Nails, Poppy and Lamb of God, tours with Nine Inch Nails and Sleep Token, video game projects and a catalogue that increasingly blurred the boundary between underground noise and something far bigger.

By the time 2023’s RAT WARS arrived, HEALTH had become masters of that collision. Last year’s CONFLICT DLC pushed further into the same world, adding another chapter to a catalogue that already included tracks such as ‘TEARS’, ‘Major Crimes’ and ‘THE DRAIN’.

Australia has become famiiar territory too. A largely sold-out headline run in 2024 was followed by a return for Knotfest Australia in 2025, and at the Forum HEALTH showed why the relationship has endured.
