tT.R. Knight and Hannah Cruz are headed to Skid Row.

The Grey’s Anatomy actor and the Tony Award-nominated actress will take over the roles of Seymour and Audrey, respectively, in the hit Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 27 at the Westside Theatre in New York City.

Knight and Cruz will succeed Ethan Slater and Betsy Wolfe, who will play their final performances as the unlikely couple on Sunday, Oct. 25.

“We couldn’t be happier to have T.R. and Hannah join the Little Shop of Horrors family,” producers Tom Kirdahy, Robert Ahrens and Hunter Arnold said in a statement. “There is something deeply special about Seymour and Audrey, and we’re excited to see these two wonderful actors bring their own heart and spirit to the roles.”

“We’re grateful to have them as part of the Little Shop legacy and can’t wait for audiences to experience their take on these beloved characters,” they added.

The casting marks Knight’s latest return to the New York stage. Best known for playing Dr. George O’Malley on Grey’s Anatomy, a role that earned him an Emmy nomination, the 53-year-old actor most recently appeared on Broadway in Stranger Things: The First Shadow. His other Broadway credits include It’s Only a Play, A Life in the Theatre, Noises Off and Tartuffe.

Cruz, meanwhile, is coming off a breakout Broadway season. She earned her first Tony Award nomination earlier this year for her performance as Svetlana Sergievsky in the revival of Chess. She previously originated the role of Inez Milholland in Suffs on Broadway and appeared Off-Broadway in Jason Robert Brown and Jonathan Marc Sherman’s The Connector.

Knight and Cruz will join Little Shop at a particularly historic moment for the production.

In September, the Michael Mayer-directed revival surpassed 2,210 performances to become the longest-running production of the musical in its history, breaking a record previously held by the original 1982 Off-Broadway production at the Orpheum Theatre.

The current revival began previews at the Westside Theatre on Sept. 17, 2019, and officially opened one month later on Oct. 17. It went on to win the Drama League, Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk awards for musical revival.

Featuring music by Alan Menken and a book and lyrics by Howard Ashman, Little Shop of Horrors follows Seymour, a down-on-his-luck flower shop employee who pines for his co-worker Audrey. His fortunes seemingly change when he discovers a mysterious plant, Audrey II, that draws attention to the struggling shop — but also develops an increasingly dangerous appetite.

The musical originally premiered Off-Broadway in 1982 and later inspired the beloved 1986 film directed by Frank Oz and starring Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene and Steve Martin.

Alongside Knight and Cruz, the current company includes Claybourne Elder as dentist Orin Scrivello, Christian McQueen as the voice of Audrey II, Christine Wanda as Ronnette, Savannah Lee Birdsong as Crystal and Morgan Ashley Bryant as Chiffon. Stephen DeRosa will also return to the role of Mr. Mushnik beginning Sept. 29, following Reg Rogers’ final performance Sept. 27.

Tickets for Little Shop of Horrors are currently on sale through Jan. 23, 2028.
