Body Horror have announced their anticipated debut EP, At The Nepo, due for release on 30th October, alongside the arrival of new single ‘The Nepo a Go Go’.

Drawing on roots across Powys, Tottenham and Birmingham, the band have carved out a distinctive sound that combines post-punk urgency with pounding electronics and the influence of London’s rave underground. Their music sits somewhere between the confrontational force of The Prodigy, the abrasive swagger of Viagra Boys and the dark intensity of The Birthday Party, while retaining a character that is distinctly their own.

Produced by Syd Kemp, whose credits include Olivia Dean, Thurston Moore, Caroline, Jessie Ware, The Horrors, Crack Cloud, Sinead O’Brien, Sorry and Spiritualized, ‘The Nepo a Go Go’ offers the first glimpse into the world of At The Nepo. Across its four tracks, the forthcoming EP promises to expand on the visceral energy and industrial grit that define the band’s increasingly uncompromising sound.

Led by the pointed, rhythmic delivery of Welsh vocalist Gethyn Thomas, ‘The Nepo a Go Go’ is built around a punishing industrial palette, a rolling dancefloor beat and sharp, cutting guitar lines. The result is physical and abrasive, but never without a sense of movement. Beneath the distortion and scattered percussion, a relentless central riff provides the track with its driving pulse.

The song builds tension through tightly wound verses before breaking into increasingly frenzied choruses, with repetition taking on an almost hypnotic quality. Rather than smoothing out its rough edges, Body Horror lean into them, using texture and controlled chaos to create something immediate, strange and deliberately raw.

The track also introduces the conceptual world behind At The Nepo, with the band using a fictional nightclub as a vehicle to explore the realities of nepotism and privilege within the London music scene.

Speaking about the track, the band explain:

“I’ve always liked songs about places. Like Copacabana by Barry Manilow. They’re usually hokey. But I wanted to take a song about a fictional venue/club and try to use it to talk about the rampant nepotism I see in the London music scene.

The song is the second part of a two-part song. Part one ‘At The Nepo’ is about entering a fictional club called The Nepo A Go Go: ‘A womb with a view, the heirloom umbilical’ And part two is a self reflection while I’m at the venue and trying to address the bigger issues it conjures up: ‘just another Westerner with a seriously privileged appendage’”

That two-part idea gives the forthcoming EP a broader thematic framework, with At The Nepo developing the ideas introduced by ‘The Nepo a Go Go’ across four tracks. While the release remains sonically unpredictable, its approach is consistent: direct songwriting, abrasive textures and a willingness to push the band’s sound into uncomfortable territory.
