A Massachusetts man is facing a slew of charges after allegedly kidnapping a woman he met on a dating app and then holding her captive for weeks in an attic with the door handle removed.

An arrest warrant was issued Sept. 23 for Jordende Pierre, 29, after authorities received a tip from a Malden landlord, the U.S. Marshals said in a statement. When authorities checked out the home on Summer Street, they allegedly found a woman who had been held captive and sexually abused for six weeks.

Pierre was arrested on Sept. 24, according to the statement. He faces charges of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, kidnapping and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older.

Pierre pleaded not guilty at his Sept. 25 arraignment, WCVB and WFXT reported.

The landlord, Qing Sun, told NBC10 Boston that she had gone to the house on Sept. 20 to check on a water leak. When she went to the attic, she allegedly found the woman in a desperate situation.

“She clearly had not eaten, she was dirty. She was living essentially in squalor in this attic area,” Middlesex County Assistant District Attorney Jacob McCrindle said in court, per the outlet. The woman was reportedly found naked and a five gallon bucket filled with urine was discovered nearby.

Prosecutors claim Pierre met the alleged victim on Tinder and picked her up from a rehab facility, then brought her to the house and plied her with drugs, McCrindle said in court, per WCVB.

In order to pay for the drugs, McCrindle alleged, Pierre sex trafficked her to other men who would come and go from the apartment then kept the money.

The woman, who was not identified publicly, was trapped in the attic because Pierre removed the handle from the door, according to NBC10 and WCVB, citing McCrindle.

Pierre was not even one of Sun’s tenants, the landlord told NBC10.

“I’m not aware this guy is living there,” Sun said, per the outlet. “And I’m not aware anybody living in the attic. Nobody’s supposed to live there.” Other tenants attempted to prevent Sun from accessing certain rooms in the home, she told NBC10.

The judge ordered Pierre held without bail, WCVB reported.
