Joaquin becomes the third family member in the Ripa-Consuelos household to feature in the franchise, following Mark and older brother Michael

Kelly Ripa, 55, is surrounded by nothing but sexy men and she is over the moon about it.

On the Sept. 30 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the host revealed that her son Joaquin was nominated in PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive 2026 Readers’ Choice Poll. Making the news even more exciting is the fact that the 23-year-old is the third family member in the Ripa-Consuelos household to feature in the Sexiest Man Alive franchise.

“I am married to one of PEOPLE Magazine’s Sexiest Men Alive,” Ripa began, referring to Mark’s 2024 win for Sexiest TV Host. “And my oldest son was also a PEOPLE Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive,” she continued, speaking of Michael Consuelos, who was featured in PEOPLE’s 2022 Sexiest Man Alive issue in a portfolio of famous sons. “Now, I cannot believe this embarrassment of riches, but our youngest son, Joaquin Consuelos, has been nominated in PEOPLE Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Poll as the Sexiest Broadway Debut Star Alive.”

It wasn’t long before Mark, 55, noted that he, too, should have been nominated, as he made his Broadway debut this year as well, starring in Fallen Angels. “Wouldn’t that be amazing if we were up against each other?” he mused. “Oh, what drama!”

Joaquin made his debut in the Joe Mantello-directed revival of Arthur Miller’s play back in April. The play, which costarred Tony winners Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf, was a hit — and his proud parents were of course, on hand to support him on his opening night..

“It was unbelievable,” Ripa said on Live. “The entire production is incredible and just to see Joaquin up there took my breath away. Took my breath away. Incredible, incredible cast, production, staging — the whole thing.”

She continued, “Just to see our kid on stage thrilled me. It’s crazy. Doesn’t make any sense. … If you would have told me when he was a newborn, ‘Oh, 22 years from now he’ll be starring on Broadway in Death of a Salesman,’ I would have thought you were on drugs.”

Consuelos was on Broadway at the same time, appearing in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Noël Coward’s Fallen Angels, starring Oscar-nominee Rose Byrne and Tony Award-winner Kelli O’Hara.

“It’s a really great cast,” Mark said of the production. “I’m just so glad to be part of that company. If you want to laugh for 90 minutes and forget what’s going on in the outside world, it’s a good place to do it.”
