Selma Blair was arrested after she allegedly punched a flight attendant, bit another flight crew member and tried to open a plane’s door during a Delta Airlines flight to New York City.

TMZ reports that Blair, 54, was flying to New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday, Oct. 11, leading to the altercation with crew onboard.

New York Port Authority said two flight attendants reported injuries sustained during the altercation and one was taken to the hospital. The outlet also reported that Blair was arrested and taken to a hospital for evaluation on Sunday. The FBI is currently investigating the incident.

“Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition,” a representative for Blair told PEOPLE in a statement on Monday, Oct. 12.

“Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first,” an airline spokesperson told PEOPLE on Oct. 12. The airline said there was no operational impact to the flight, which arrived ahead of schedule in N.Y.C. after taking off from Los Angeles earlier in the day. Delta confirmed law enforcement responded upon the flight’s arrival.

A spokesperson for the FBI confirmed the agency is currently investigating.

“The FBI is responsible for investigating all assaults aboard aircraft,” a spokesperson told PEOPLE in a statement on Monday, Oct. 12. “Yesterday, we were informed by our partners at Port Authority Police Department of a potential assault aboard a flight that arrived into JFK. As per long-standing DOJ policy, we do not comment on ongoing investigations.”

The Cruel Intentions actress, who was diagnosed with the chronic autoimmune disease MS in 2018, was expected to appear at the upcoming 90s Con in Hartford, Conn., which runs Friday, Oct. 16 through Sunday, Oct. 18. The actress shared a series of photos of herself and her service dog Scout on Instagram Sunday, Oct. 11, indicating she had been a frequent traveler recently. “From LA to New Mexico to La to nyc to LA Scout and I have been busy. I miss you,” she wrote.

In 2016, Blair was removed from an international flight that landed in Los Angeles following a trip to Cancun, Mexico after she caused a disturbance on an airplane. “I made a big mistake yesterday. After a lovely trip with my son and his Dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret,” she told Vanity Fair in a statement at the time.
