Kings of Leon are heading back Down Under. The Tennessee rock heavyweights have announced an Australian tour for February and March 2027, bringing their unmistakable Southern swagger and a new album, O My Beloved, along for the ride.
Set for release on 6 November, O My Beloved marks the band’s tenth studio album and another chapter in a career that has taken four relatives from scrappy garage rock beginnings to some of the biggest stages on the planet.
Formed in 1999, brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill, alongside cousin Matthew, first made their mark with a gritty collision of Southern rock, blues and garage punk. Their early records earned them a devoted following, particularly in the UK, before 2008’s Only by the Night sent them into the stratosphere.
That album delivered the colossal Sex on Fire and Use Somebody, turning Kings of Leon into an arena-filling force almost overnight. Australia was particularly taken with the record, making it the country’s biggest-selling album of 2008 and eventually awarding it nine-times platinum certification.
Four Grammy Awards, nine previous studio albums and more than two decades later, the Followill family have little left to prove. Yet their evolution from rough-edged Southern rock outsiders to international headliners remains one of modern rock’s more remarkable transformations.
Their latest Australian visit follows 2024’s Can We Please Have Fun, with O My Beloved promising another opportunity to hear where the band’s restless musical evolution takes them next.
Expect towering choruses, plenty of guitar firepower and a catalogue built for mass singalongs. Kings of Leon are coming back, and Australia has never been shy about turning up the volume for them.
