Canadian folk favourites The East Pointers are heading back to Australia this summer, bringing their infectious mix of traditional folk, indie and pop to intimate East Coast venues and Woodford Folk Festival.

The JUNO Award-winning outfit have built a serious following Down Under, and after their 2025 visit, they’re wasting little time getting back. Their January 2027 shows promise another chance to catch a band that’s made a name for itself by taking folk music well beyond its traditional boundaries.

Their latest album, Schoonertown, landed in 2025 and finds the group mixing acoustic roots with modern production, big melodies and plenty of heart. From messy nights out and first loves to the growing pains of youth, it’s a record that tackles life’s ups and downs without losing its sense of fun.

Now they’re giving the album another spin with a deluxe edition arriving on 11 December, featuring fresh material and an acoustic take on Maritime Moonshine.

With a reputation for turning intimate venues into lively, communal celebrations, The East Pointers are proving that folk music doesn’t have to sit quietly in the corner. Australia clearly can’t get enough of them, and the feeling appears to be mutual.

Tickets for The East Pointers 2027 Australian tour are on sale on Thursday October 22. Go HERE for ticketing information.
