The country artist and the actress-singer tied the knot on Oct. 20, 1991, and welcomed daughter Lily Pearl in 2001

Clint Black and Lisa Hartman’s daughter Lily has inherited her parents’ knack for entertaining.

The accomplished country music artist met his wife after his concert on New Year’s Eve in 1990, and they wed just under a year later, on Oct. 20, 1991. They welcomed their first child, daughter Lily Pearl, nearly a decade later in May 2001. As Lily grew up, her parents knew she had inherited their performer gene, recalling to PEOPLE in 2021 that she often acted out different characters at home and joined a rock band in high school. She has accompanied Black and Hartman on stage at several concerts, joining them on their Mostly Hits & the Mrs. Tour, and often calls her parents her “best friends.”

“Hearing her voice, we knew it was only a matter of time when we needed to ask, ‘Hey, what do you want to do? Where do you want to go to college? What do you want to study? Who do you want to be?’ ” Black said.
