Like I thought, we were never going to find the identity of the banished tonight. It’s a week-long cliffhanger. But don’t be downhearted, because it’s a week-long cliffhanger that will result in the banishment of a faithful, so we kind of know the outcome already.
Kenny votes for… end credits.
Round two:
Maya votes SHARON
Leigh-Annes votes SHARON
Acaster votes JOANNE
Bash votes JOANNE
Romesh votes JOANNE, even though he doesn’t think either of them are traitors
Michael votes SHARON
Blunt votes SHARON
Four votes for Sharon, three for Joanne. Kenny and his double vote gets the casting say.
Joanne goes first. She says that she’s a clumsy faithful, and that she’s freaking out. She also says that she’s a Taurus.
Sharon next. She has nothing else to say. She’s a faithful. She has played an open game.
Obviously, however this goes, it’s a great big win for the traitors. The actual identity of the banished person makes no difference to the big scheme of things.
Sharon and Joanne have an equal amount of votes. They both have to plead their cases again, and they don’t get a vote this round. This could go either way.
Acaster votes JOANNE
Bash votes JOANNE. Sharon might be OK!
Romesh votes MICHAEL
Michael votes SHARON. If the next vote is for Joanne, Joanne goes.
Blunt votes SHARON. Oh INTERESTING. It’s a draw!
Here we are.
Kenny and his double vote votes SHARON. Let’s assume it is over for Sharon.
Maya votes BASH, for no good reason.
Joanne votes LEIGH-ANNE
Sharon votes JOANNE
Leigh-Anne votes JOANNE. Two votes each for Sharon and Joanne.
Now Sheen questions Sharon again. And Sharon is reacting very badly to this. She’s aggressively shrugging, and telling everyone to vote for her. People won’t need much encouragement. But let’s find out, because now it’s voting time.
Next: the group rounds on Joanne, on the basis that Miranda is dead and they had a spat. Joanne responds by saying that she often forgets that this is a game. Nine minutes left.
Leigh-Anne launches a theory of her own, by trying to work out who the traitors recruited after Hannah was banished. Maya suggests that they recruited someone smart. Michael and Blunt suggests that they might have recruited a pushover. But then Bash wonders why Michael hasn’t been murdered yet. This is all over the place. And if the vote is spread thin, Kenny’s double vote is going to be more powerful than ever.
As suspected, he thinks that Sharon outed herself as a traitor by overreacting. She retaliates by saying that she was just looking out for Acaster. Which she was, but she really isn’t helping herself.
Kenny goes first. He mentions that Bash is acting a bit weird. Then comes Michael, the roundtable dad, who wants to figure out why Sharon reacted so strangely to the pitchfork task.
OK, roundtable town. Let’s not forget that Kenny has two votes tonight, and everyone knows about it.
Kenny takes Blunt into a room and asks about Sharon, in a clear effort to muddy the waters. Kenny is becoming a better and better traitor with every passing moment. He is terrifyingly duplicitous.
Bash rounds up Joanne and Romesh, and together they decide that James Blunt has constructed a coordinated campaign to put heat on Sharon. So now he’s a big suspect. Less than twenty minutes to go in the episode and no sign of a roundtable, by the way. This is highly irregular. Something big is going to happen. Either that, or there will be an arbitrary cliffhanger before they announce who’s been banished.
In a different room, Sharon says that she adores Joanne, and that Joanne is the best thing ever. But with that in mind, she thinks that Joanne is definitely a traitor and will be voting for her.
Back at the castle, everyone agrees that the traitors are the most trustworthy of all of them. The traitors, meanwhile, cannot believe their luck. Meanwhile, James Blunt goes and dobs on Sharon for suspecting Joanne. This is going to be a Sharon v Joanne roundtable I think.
