Every October, Macy Blackwell proves herself to be social media’s “queen of Halloween” by throwing an all-out spooky season soirée. It comes as no surprise that this year is no exception, but somehow the content creator has managed to host an even bigger and better party than ever before.
Blackwell, 32, transformed her Texas home into an enchanted forest for the 2026 event, which took place on Saturday, Oct. 24. The theme is a stark pivot from the Las Vegas-inspired decor she chose in 2025. She tells PEOPLE that her goal was to curate an environment that felt “completely immersive, almost like we were bringing the outdoors inside.”
While she’s certainly a seasoned party-planning pro, Blackwell doesn’t take her role as hostess lightly. “I want this to be the party everyone looks forward to all year long, where we make the craziest memories together,” she shares. “Our guests really go all out. Most have custom costumes made and spend months planning their looks for this one night. One of my favorite parts is seeing everyone’s interpretation of the theme and watching their creativity shine.”

Plus, she has 2.2 million Instagram followers to impress with the annual party reveal, and she’s well aware that expectations are high. She shares almost everything about the preparation process, from posting about decorations to her own costume details and behind-the-scenes moments.
“Once you’ve been crowned the ‘queen of Halloween,’ there’s definitely some pressure to live up to the title, but I love that! It just pushes me to dream even bigger,” says Blackwell, who wore a “dark forest fairy” ensemble to fit the magical woodland theme. (“Think less Tinker Bell, more queen of the enchanted woods,” the viral sensation explains to PEOPLE.)

Some of her online viewers may just appreciate the eye candy of her party posts, but Blackwell does hope some of them follow her lead, too. “While this party is over-the-top, I think you can pull inspiration from anything and scale it to your liking,” she notes.

Blackwell’s fête is as elaborate as it gets; she and her husband even remove all of their regular furniture and bring in themed rental pieces for the evening. It’s a lot of effort — and the morning-after cleanup is no joke — but she has no plans to host Halloween at a venue in the future. She says it’s crucial that she captures the “intimate” spirit and “slightly chaotic energy” of a house party.
“My biggest goal is always to have a party where everyone actually dances. So, of course, we have a huge dance floor and a hip-hop-heavy playlist that gets everyone dropping it low,” she continues.

Blackwell has a penchant for DIY decor, but she jokes that she gifts herself the luxury of some hosting help in October. This year, she brought her vision to life with planning assistance from Modern Party Company.
“It’s the best of both worlds because I still get to be creative, but I can actually relax, party, and be present with our guests instead of stressing over every little detail,” says Blackwell.
Of course, there’s a steep price tag attached to her annual tradition. It’s an expensive gathering, but when it comes to Blackwell’s Halloween budget, she notes, “the limit does not exist!”
“We’re spending well over $50,000 on this year’s party alone,” she continues. “But for a theme like this, it’s so worth it to us.”
Last year, Blackwell told PEOPLE that her party cost about $30,000 in total, and she noted that was only “actually almost half” of what they spent in 2024.

“Every year, I challenge myself to get a little more creative and elevate the entire experience,” she reflects, adding playfully, “I’m coming for your Halloween party host crown, Heidi Klum!”
In Blackwell’s opinion, no other holiday compares to Halloween. There’s “just something magical” about it, she emphasizes, and that’s why she doesn’t see the party tradition ending anytime soon.
“I love bringing our friends together for a night where everyone can escape reality, embrace their spooky side, and make memories that will haunt us in the best way for years to come,” she shares.
