While monochromatic outfits are my signature fall outfit formula, Kristen Bell’s vibrant ensemble just inspired me to add a little variety to my closet.

The Nobody Wants This star, 46, recently took a stroll in New York City while wearing a rugby shirt, wide-leg jeans, and a mini Chanel crossbody bag in red. Her playful outfit struck an ideal balance between laid-back comfort and intentional style, and I can’t wait to wear it while running errands, traveling, and doing everything in between.

Celebrities have co-signed dark-wash jeans for fall, so I’m grabbing these wide-leg Levi’s while they’re on sale. Like Bell’s pair, this style’s structured silhouette adds instant polish to casual outfits. One shopper said they’re “perfect for snatching your waist” yet still allow your “hips and thighs to breathe.” Plus, the deep-toned hue coordinates well with casual staples, including turtlenecks and polo sweaters.
