Belgian post-black metal heavyweights Oathbreaker are finally heading to Australia, announcing their first-ever shows Down Under in March 2027.

The band will hit Brisbane’s Crowbar on 11 March and Sydney’s Crowbar on 12 March, joined by Texan metal punks Portrayal of Guilt and Australian screamo outfit Blind Girls. They’ll also appear at Melbourne’s sold-out Lucidity Festival on 13 March, performing their landmark album Rheia in full.

Emerging from Belgium’s hardcore underground, Oathbreaker have built a reputation for pushing extreme music well beyond its usual boundaries. Their sound pulls together black metal, screamo, sludge and post-punk, with frontwoman Caro Tanghe’s vocals moving between ferocious screams and haunting melodies.

After going on hiatus in 2018, the band reunited in 2026 to mark the tenth anniversary of Rheia, the album that cemented their reputation as one of Europe’s most compelling heavy acts.

Joining them are Portrayal of Guilt, touring behind their 2026 album …Beginning of The End, while Blind Girls bring their own brand of frantic Australian screamo. Brisbane’s Slowcut and Melbourne grindcore outfit Diploid round out the respective local line-ups.

For Australian fans who have waited years to catch Oathbreaker live, March can’t come soon enough.
