New Zealand producer Sola Rosa is finally heading back to Australia, announcing his first shows across the Tasman in more than a decade.
The Auckland-based artist, otherwise known as Andrew Spraggon, will hit Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast in March 2027, armed with a new live show and his latest album, In The Mids.
For more than two decades, Sola Rosa has been mixing funk, soul, electronic music and hip-hop into his own distinctive sound. His eighth studio album, In The Mids, released in April, keeps that formula moving, with guest appearances from Muroki, Wallace, Blush’ko, Akosia and Iva Lamkum.
Tracks including Jupiter, Losing Time and Like A Light In The Dark showcase Spraggon’s knack for combining laid-back grooves with sharp electronic production.
The Australian shows will feature a stripped-back three-piece ensemble, with the music accompanied by a full visual production from Creature Post. The new format has already been tested on a successful New Zealand tour, which included sold-out shows in Wellington and Hawke’s Bay.
Before heading to Australia, Sola Rosa will also release a deluxe edition of In The Mids in February 2027, featuring remixes and alternative edits.
It’s been a long wait for Australian fans, but with fresh material and a revamped live show, Sola Rosa has plenty to offer when he returns in March.
