Powderfinger’s reunion is turning into one of the biggest Australian music events of 2027. After selling out 26 shows in just six days, the Brisbane rock legends have announced nine more dates, taking their long-awaited comeback to Hobart and Canberra for the first time.

More than 300,000 tickets disappeared in less than a week following the band’s spectacular reunion announcement. Now Bernard Fanning and company are extending the celebrations with an Encore Run across November and December, including additional shows in Melbourne and Perth.

And they’re bringing some serious Australian talent along for the ride.

Ocean Alley, Violent Soho, The Living End, Ball Park Music, John Butler Trio, Something For Kate, Thelma Plum, DMA’S, You Am I, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers and The Preatures are among a formidable all-Australian support roster. Full Flower Moon Band, South Summit, Carla Geneve and The Belair Lip Bombs are also on the bill.

The biggest celebrations are reserved for Brisbane, where Powderfinger will close the tour with two outdoor festival-format shows at the Brisbane Showgrounds on 10 and 11 December. The final night promises an all-Brisbane line-up, a fitting homecoming for a band that helped define Australian rock for a generation.

Hobart gets two nights at Cornelian Bay Oval, Canberra finally gets its turn at Stage 88, while Melbourne and Perth each score another two shows.

For fans who missed out the first time, this is their final chance. The band have confirmed that no further tour locations will be announced.
