John Stamos knows a thing or two about looking good. But, he reveals the one step in his nightly routine that is the opposite of sexy.

Speaking to PEOPLE for his Pantene partnership, the Full House actor shared that it doesn’t take much to maintain his appearance, but he does one thing every night, and it involves his eight-year-old son, Billy.

“I’ll tell you what’s not sexy,” he said. “And my son has made a hobby out of it.”

Stamos shared that every night, when he puts his son to bed — either after reading a book or saying a prayer — his son has made the habit of pulling out his nose hairs. “[It’s] his new pastime,” he said.

“He says, ‘Dad, you have beautiful hair.’ I say, ‘Thank you, son.’ He goes, ‘How do you get it to come out of your nose like that?’”

“And I call him a little s—,” Stamos says, laughing. “[And then] I say, ‘You can’t say that word, but I can.”

The Never Too Young To Die star said that Billy thinks pulling out his nose hairs is “so funny.”

“I’ll just be lying there in bed, and he [will pull it out]. And then my wife would be like, ‘Well, you don’t want them there, do you?’” he recalled. “I’m Greek. What am I going to do?”

Stamos’ favorite part about being Billy’s father, which he shares with his wife, Caitlin McHugh Stamos, is watching him grow into “the most empathetic, kind, funny” little kid.

“I love joking with him,” he said. “He loves to cuddle. He’s still at that age where he just wants to cuddle his mom and dad, and that’s really cute.”

The actor recalled a moment from a couple of years ago that filled him with pride over being Billy’s father.

“I picked him up from school a while ago, and all the kids were hugging each other and saying, ‘I love you. Bye-bye.’ ‘I love you,’” he said. “I asked the teacher, I said, ‘When did you start that?’ She goes, ‘Your son started that.’”

“So it’s those moments that you go, ‘It’s going to be okay,’” Stamos said.

As Pantene’s latest ambassador, Stamos’ everyday routine also includes using the brand’s Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner. Packed with antioxidants and pro-vitamin B5, the duo hydrates hair for up to 72 hours, leaving it shiny and smooth.

“I wash my hair with Pantene, and I put some mud in it, and that’s it,” Stamos says of his effortless steps. “I don’t do a lot, you know? I’m blessed with good hair.”

Now and then, Stamos says he uses Pantene’s Miracle Rescue Deep Repair Conditioner, which repairs damage and softens hair with its nutrient-rich formula.

“Pantene has always been part of my life,” the actor says. “You can’t just put anything in your hair, no matter how good [it is].”
