The Innisfree Bodycare Trio to Know

  • Travel-Friendly Companion: Isle Number Travel Duo, $12
  • Daily Dose of Hydration: Isle Number Body Lotion, $20
  • Desk-Side Essential: Isle Number Hand Cream, $10

Innisfree and I go way back. I’ve been using the K-beauty brand since high school, so when I heard it released its first-ever bodycare collection, I was so excited. As usual, the lineup is centered around the brand’s signature green tea formula—an ingredient that’s long been a favorite in K-beauty skincare.

Naturally, I wanted to know what it could do for the rest of my skin, especially as the colder weather leaves my body feeling extra dry. To get the scoop, I tapped a dermatologist and an esthetician to break down green tea’s benefits, share tips and tricks, and explain why it’s especially helpful during the fall and winter.

Dr. Arjun Mehta, a triple board-certified dermatologist and owner of VIO Med Spa, says, “Green tea offers antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and photoprotective properties when incorporated into bodycare products.”

And I adore a good bodycare duo, especially one that takes up little room in my suitcase and is easy to travel with. Innisfree’s set checks both boxes, with mini versions of its new body wash and lotion that are infused with the brand’s signature Jeju green tea formula. Both products also feature fresh citrusy and woody notes that leave behind a subtle, lingering scent — one that my husband is a huge fan of.

Katelyn Fitzgerald, a master licensed esthetician and founder and CEO of Luminous Skin Lab, shares, “Unlike an exfoliating acid or a retinoid, green tea is well-tolerated and appropriate for daily use right from the start.” The set is a nice way to test out the collection before committing to the full-size containers, and the travel-friendly bottles mean I can keep my shower-to-lotion routine going even when I’m away from home.

Fitzgerald also highlights the benefits of incorporating green tea into your bodycare routine, explaining, “Green tea works on multiple levels at once. It helps neutralize environmental stressors, it calms reactive skin, and it supports barrier function, all without being harsh.”

These qualities make green tea particularly helpful in body lotions. As Fitzgerald explains, “The skin on the body doesn’t get nearly as much attention as the face, and green tea is a smart, low-friction way” to give your body the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits it needs.

Ever since temperatures dropped and the heater started running, I’ve appreciated how soothing the brand’s body lotion feels on my dry skin. Its moisturizing formula helps replenish hydration and leaves my skin feeling soft and nourished, which is exactly what I look for in a winter-friendly body lotion. The pump bottle is also easier to use after a shower compared to thicker body creams that come in jars with screw-on caps.

Expert Tip:

Dr. Mehta recommends applying bodycare products “immediately after bathing in lukewarm water, while the skin is still slightly damp,” to help lock in moisture.

Innisfree’s gel-like hand cream is another must-have for keeping hands moisturized without leaving a heavy, greasy residue. It’s especially handy during the fall and winter when frequent handwashing and chilly temperatures can leave skin feeling extra dry and in desperate need of hydration.

Fitzgerald explains, “Cold air and indoor heating create a kind of constant assault on the skin barrier. Moisture evaporates faster, skin gets more reactive, and the usual routine often isn’t enough. Green tea’s soothing and antioxidant properties help offset that environmental stress, and it supports barrier function.”

Another perk of Innisfree’s new hand cream is its lightweight texture, which absorbs quickly into the skin. This quality makes it easy to reapply throughout the day without worrying about leaving a greasy residue on your laptop, phone, or other belongings. Dr. Mehta also notes that green tea “may also help protect against photoaging by neutralizing reactive oxygen species and reducing UV-induced skin damage.” At just $10, this green tea-infused hand cream is an affordable product to keep nearby.
