Conan O’Brien is speaking out about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding.
The comedian, 63, attended Swift and Kelce’s nuptials at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday, July 3, with his wife, Liza Powel O’Brien, 55. During the Sunday, Aug. 30, episode of his Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast with guest Andy Daly, Conan opened up about the starry celebration for the first time.
Conan described the ceremony, officiated by actor and comedian Adam Sandler, 59, as “wonderful” and “beautiful.”
“Adam Sandler was brilliant and really sweet and perfection,” he said. “And I keep bothering him because we’re friends. I keep telling him how it’s one of the finest things I’ve seen a person do. He just hit the tone. He was funny. He was sweet. It was perfection.”

He continued, “They were lovely. [It] was just very heartwarming. The whole thing was just absolutely beautiful. And people have said this, but I’ll just double down: It was really sweet and real.”
The former late-night talk show host didn’t want to spill too many details out of respect for Swift and Kelce, both 36, explaining, “I’ve been very discreet because I respect their privacy.” However, he was open to confirming or denying wedding rumors.
Daly asked Conan about some wedding hearsay, including a rumored early arrival time, limited seating, and phone confiscation. Conan noted that most rumors were “insanity” and “crazy.” He made wild jokes about the topics — including that he “showed up five hours early” while “dressed as a custodian” to help set up and played a blindfolded game of musical chairs that resulted in “badly hurt” guests being “helicoptered out” — then more seriously confirmed that the celebration was phone-free and that many guests didn’t sit voluntarily.
“People gave up their phones, which I think was a good idea,” Conan said.
He later explained, “There’s a reception where there’s places to sit but you didn’t want to sit. You know, mostly people were standing and talking, and there’s music.”
He added that Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks‘ performances were “just fantastic.”

Conan joked that he gave Swift and Kelce a used rice cooker, before admitting that he didn’t actually get them a wedding gift. “But I should’ve,” he said.
Conan and his wife were among an estimated 1,000 wedding guests. Notable guests included Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Emma Stone, Jessica Alba, Hugh Grant, Cindy Crawford, Jennifer Lopez, Brad Pitt, Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, Zoë Kravitz, Dakota Johnson, Karlie Kloss and Ethan Hawke.
