Katie Holmes and Jason Bard Yarmosky are Instagram official!

On Tuesday, Sept. 1, the Dawson’s Creek alum, 47, wished her boyfriend a very happy birthday via social media. 

“Happy Birthday to the best of the best…❤️,” she captioned a two-photo Instagram carousel while tagging the New York City-based artist.

In the first slide, the pair laughed while leaning their heads on one another as they stood against a wall with Holmes lovingly holding him by the waist. The second slide was a dimly lit photo that focused on a birthday cake with candles lit around its perimeter.

The Happy Hours actress also shared a video on Instagram Stories of her with Yarmosky at his birthday dinner, which was later reposted by British visual artist and songwriter Shantell Martin.

In the sweet clip, Yarmosky can be seen sitting at a table, blowing out the candles on his cake as those in the cozy setting cheered him on. 

Holmes sat beside him, smiling before the two embraced one another.

The actress and Yarmosky were first spotted out together on July 10 when they were photographed holding hands at a screening of Olivia Wilde’s film The Invite in East Hampton, N.Y.

“He was whispering in her ear, and she was laughing, they seemed very easy together and there was a smile on her face all night,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. “They sat together during the movie, she had her head on his shoulder at one point. They looked very cute.”

Later, an insider close to Holmes revealed that the actress and the artist initially hit it off while at a dinner, then began seeing each other afterward.

“They went on a date shortly after and she finds him interesting,” the source said. “Katie has always been drawn to people who are creative. She loves being around people who are passionate about what they do. She enjoys learning and experiencing new things.” 

Just days later, the Batman Begins actress and Yarmosky met up once again for a dinner date in downtown Manhattan.

“Katie and Jason looked so happy after dinner walking together, hugging, smiling at each other, and patting each other on the back,” a source told PEOPLE of the July 14 outing. “Jason even gently opened the car door for her to get in. They looked so happy and in love.”

Since then, the pair have been seen out on several occasions, including an Aug. 20 night out at an intimate event hosted by Michael Kors in honor of the Michael Kors Collection’s 45th anniversary, where the couple posed for a picture with the fashion designer.
