Angus & Julia Stone are heading home, with the Sydney-born siblings announcing an Australian tour for February and March 2027 in support of their newly released seventh album, ‘Karaoke Bar’. The run will launch their latest world tour on home soil, giving Australian audiences the first opportunity to hear the new record live alongside songs drawn from almost two decades together.

Among the dates is a particularly fitting homecoming. Angus & Julia Stone will play the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Sunday, February 28, opening the venue’s 2027 Forecourt summer season with a performance beneath the sails and overlooking Sydney Harbour.

The national tour marks the pair’s first Australian headline run since their sold-out 2024 tour behind ‘Cape Forestier’. That album subsequently took them around the world, including performances at London’s Royal Albert Hall, L’Olympia in Paris and New York’s Town Hall. This time around, Australia comes first, before the ‘Karaoke Bar’ tour heads overseas.

Written and recorded across Greece, France and Australia, ‘Karaoke Bar’ continues the evolution of a partnership that began long before Angus & Julia Stone became one of Australia’s most successful musical exports. Led by ‘The Cherry Farm’, the album moves between the intimate songwriting at the heart of their early work and the broader musical palette that has emerged across their later records.

Their story stretches back to 2007 debut ‘A Book Like This’, with 2010’s ‘Down The Way’ providing the breakthrough that carried them far beyond Australia. Its centrepiece, ‘Big Jet Plane’, topped the triple j Hottest 100 and became their signature song, while ‘Angus & Julia Stone’, ‘Snow’ and ‘Cape Forestier’ continued to expand their international audience. Their catalogue has since passed three billion streams.

The 2027 Australian shows will draw from across that catalogue as well as introducing ‘Karaoke Bar’ to the stage. After years spent playing theatres, festivals and concert halls around the world, there is something appropriate about the duo choosing Australia as the starting point for the album’s next life.

Sydney gets one of the tour’s defining settings. The Opera House Forecourt has the scale of a major outdoor concert while retaining a connection to the city that produced the pair, making the February 28 performance both a stop on the national tour and a significant homecoming.
