Brody Jenner “loves being a girl dad,” according to his mother.

Linda Thompson spoke exclusively with PEOPLE at the One805LIVE! event in Los Angeles on Saturday, Sept. 26, when she said she is “so happy” for her son and his wife, Tiarah “Tia” Blanco, after they welcomed their second baby, a daughter named Dolly, on Sept. 21.

“Brody loves being a girl dad. You know, if he had 10 girls, he would be happy. He loves being surrounded by his little [girls], and they adore him,” Thompson, 76, said.

“I’m so happy for him and for the family … I feel inordinately blessed. I’m very grateful,” she continued.

Brody, 43, and his pro surfer wife, 29, announced the arrival of their newborn baby daughter Dolly through a joint Instagram post on Sept. 26.

The pair — who are also parents to a three-year-old daughter, Honey —said they welcomed Dolly following an “intense, medicated labor.”

Sharing an update about the couple and how they’re adjusting to being parents to a baby again, Thompson told PEOPLE, “They’re not getting much sleep. You know, newborn babies need to eat every four hours.”

Following her sixth grandchild’s arrival, the songwriter and actress said she will be keeping busy by helping take care of all her kids’ children.

“It’s funny, my primary career right now is babysitting,” Thompson joked. “But I don’t get paid for it, so good thing I got that other residual money coming in from the songwriting.”

Thompson shared several sweet photos on Instagram of herself holding her newborn granddaughter while visiting Brody and Blanco in the hospital.

“Another precious angel has entered the world and her name is Dolly!” the proud grandma wrote in her post’s caption. “Honey is already the best big sister… So loving and protective of her little sibling … Her gorgeous mama @tiablanco powered through her pregnancy and giving birth like the champion she is! Looking like a supermodel, even moments after giving birth! What a woman!”

“Brody was with her throughout it all…giving her love and comfort… As a good man should be,” she continued. “I am so grateful to God and all the powers that be to welcome another precious grandchild into the world. I am already so deeply in love with little Dolly Jane Jenner.,” Thompson added.

Thompson shares two sons, Brody and Brandon Jenner, with her ex, Caitlyn Jenner.

Brandon, 45, has four children of his own— Joan, 2, and twin boys Bo and Sam, 4, with his wife Cayley, plus an 8-year-old daughter, Eva, with his ex, Leah James.

Along with Brody and Brandon, Caitlyn, 76, also shares Burt Jenner and Cassandra Marino with Chrystie Scott and Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner with Kris Jenner.

The One805LIVE! event is a two-night benefit held at Kevin Costner’s private oceanfront estate in Carpinteria that brings together musical artists in support of Santa Barbara County’s first responders.

“I’ve lived in Malibu for 42, 43 years, and we’ve had our fair share of fires. It’s so important to respect and to assist the people who come into our communities, risk their lives and their well-being to help us when the fires come through,” Thompson told PEOPLE of her reason for attending the charity event.

“I’ve had to evacuate several times, and just by the grace of God, my house is still there, but it’s just really important to be there for those who come in and risk their lives to protect our homes and us,” she continued.
