  • The Full House cast reunited at ‘90s Con to share memories of Bob Saget
  • Sweetin said shots shattered the car window as she and Saget left a Janet Jackson concert
  • Saget later drove Sweetin home and explained the frightening incident to her mother

Not every memory from the Full House cast is a happy one.

Candace Cameron Bure, Lori Loughlin, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, Scott Weinger and Andrea Barber reunited at ‘90s Con on Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Connecticut Convention Center for a panel discussion surrounding the show, and talked about their memories with the last cast member and comedian Bob Saget.

In a discussion about the show moderated by PEOPLE executive editor Breanne L. Heldman, Sweetin, 44, recalled one moment when her on-screen dad had to explain to her mother that someone shot at the car they were in.

“I remember a Janet Jackson concert with Bob. We were parked outside of Edge of Epics going to that Janet Jackson concert. And I walked back out to the car….and we were sitting in the car and like the window exploded. We were like, ‘Oh!”

Sweetin shared that they “ran off” and “then we had to wait for two station wagon taxis because this is pre-Uber, to come and get us and we were late. And then Bob had to drive me home and explain to my mom what happened. So between that and the Laugh Factory, Bob was not always my mom’s favorite,” Sweetin shared.

She then clarified that “they shot the window out of the car.”

“It was a drive-by. It was back in the late ‘80s, early ‘90s. I leaned over to tie my shoes and it’s just like ‘pop pop pop’ and the whole thing shattered.”

Stamos asked how the story never got to the press.

Sweetin admitted that “to this day I told that story and I wonder if it actually, it’s one of those like, ‘Did that actually happen?’

“I was there and I doubt that it happened, but it actually did, so,” Sweetin shared.

On Jan. 9, 2022, Bob Saget, who played patriarch Danny Tanner on the show, died after suffering blunt head trauma following an unwitnessed fall.

Sweetin shared in the panel that “Bob’s just glad we’re all still talking about him. Really, truly. Bob just loves to know that he’s still the main topic of conversation. He is the best in ways and yes, we love him.”
