Alexa Chung confirms she’s headed down the aisle.

The British model, 40, revealed in an interview with More or Less that her beau, actor Tom Sturridge, 40, popped the question with a special type of ring that has a haunting history. 

“My engagement ring is a Tudor,” Chung told the outlet in an interview published on Oct. 23. “Tom knows how much I adore vintage and antiques, and he got me a beautiful Tudor ring. It’s like a table-cut diamond.”

Chung explained that she had seen similar ring designs in portraits at the National Portrait Gallery, including those of Anne Boleyn and several other people who “perished” at the hands of King Henry VIII.

“When I went to get my hair done in Paris, my lovely friend Alexandri, who was doing my hair getting ready for a fashion show, said, ‘Oh my god, I think your ring is haunted,’ ” she recalled. “And he took it off my finger and started making wishes around it and blowing on it.”

“So, I hope that my ring isn’t haunted. Or do I? Because that’s iconic,” she added.

PEOPLE has reached out to Chung and Sturridge’s reps for comment.

The couple first sparked engagement rumors in July 2023, after the model was seen wearing a gold ring on that finger while strolling with the actor in London’s Notting Hill.

The pair confirmed their relationship in July 2022 after being spotted kissing at Wimbledon. Since then, they’ve largely kept their romance out of the spotlight, with both primarily using social media to share updates about their careers.

They made their red carpet debut together at the Met Gala in May 2023 and have since made occasional joint appearances at public events.

Before his relationship with Chung, Sturridge dated Sienna Miller from 2011 to 2015. They welcomed their daughter, Marlowe, in 2012.

The American Sniper actress, 44, shared on Vogue‘s The Run-Through podcast that she has family dinners with Chung, Sturridge, Oli and Marlowe.

“It’s genuinely very loving and cozy and great,” she said in December 2023. “It’s ideal. It’s incredible. We are very lucky.”
