My mom, 57, has such good style that I, 25, would wear nearly everything in her closet — and do. 

We’re constantly swapping everything from shoes to sweaters and tapping each other for styling advice, which goes to show that she has achieved her goal of curating a “current but classic” wardrobe that’s anything but frumpy. 

I picked her brain about what she’s eyeing for fall at Anthropologie, and, as luck would have it, the brand’s sale-on-sale is helping her cross several styles off her wish list. Her favorite finds include a cashmere sweater, comfy sneakers, and more essentials starting at just $15.

Maeve Silk Wool Cashmere Ruffled Cardigan

My mom is a firm believer that “cashmere never goes out of style,” and this silk wool cashmere sweater is currently an impressive 67 percent off, thanks to the extra 50 percent off sale promotion, which makes it a “no-brainer,” according to my mom. 

She loves the playful ruffle detail and appreciates that the sweater is more fitted as opposed to an oversized or chunky style, as it doesn’t “add bulk” and is easier to layer under a coat.

Maeve Colette Corduroy Wide-Leg Pants

My mom already owns seven pairs of the Maeve Colette pants, but now she has her sights set on a corduroy pair, which she surprisingly does not yet own. If Gigi Hadid’s recent outfit is any indication, she has the right idea that all of the cool girls will be wearing the fabric this fall. 

She describes the pants as “more polished and comfortable than jeans,” but “still easy to style.” Both my mom and I are taller than average, so we appreciate that the pants are available in a longer length. There’s also an option for petites, too.

Kate Middleton is my mom’s style icon, so of course she’s taken note of her go-to fall footwear. While there’s no shortage of sightings of the Princess of Wales in heels and boots, she’s also been reaching for penny loafers this season, so it comes as no surprise that this similar style is high on my mom’s wish list. 

She prefers this pair’s suede finish over Middleston’s classic leather loafer, but appreciates that they feature a similar shape and stitching details. Plus, the shoe is currently on sale in three hues: black, dark brown, and a lighter brown.
