The actor also teased what fans can expect from the new show: “It manages to feel very much like it’s somehow a part of that world, an end to a trilogy of sorts, whilst also being very much its own thing, and it is just really good. … I’m really proud of it,” he said.

Spader portrays Ultron, who returns in human form in VisionQuest.
The actor agreed to return to the MCU without a script for the Disney+ series, he told IGN at New York Comic Con in October 2026.
“When I had to make the decision to do the show, it was just based on my conversation with [showrunner, writer and director Terry Matalas],” Spader said. “The story would have to be very different if Ultron wasn’t going to be on the show.”
The award-winning actor is best known for his portrayal of Alan Shore on The Practice and its spinoff series Boston Legal, and as Raymond Reddington on The Blacklist.
Off-screen, Spader has been in a long-term relationship with Leslie Stefanson and has three sons, two of whom he shares with his ex-wife Victoria Kheel.
