Alexander Skarsgård is keeping red carpets interesting with a nod to his Wicker costar Olivia Colman.
Skarsgård, 50, stepped out to the Los Angeles premiere of the film in a fitted long-sleeve black shirt emblazoned with Colman’s face in a frame of buttons on Tuesday, Oct. 20. He paired the shirt with a punk-inspired Chopova Lowena plaid skirt that was half black-and-yellow, half pink-and-black, and fastened with safety-pin-esque detailing at the waist.
The actor completed his look with a classic pair of black dress shoes and coordinating black socks. He posed for photos opposite Colman, 52, and costar Elizabeth Debicki, before his brother Bill Skarsgård joined in.
The upcoming film, based on Ursula Wills’ short story The Wicker Husband, follows an unconventional fisherwoman (Colman) in a European medieval village who commissions the local basket weaver (Peter Dinklage) to make her a husband. When her perfect wicker husband (Skarsgård) arrives, and the pair strike up a romance, their unique union sparks chaos in the village.

“I was quite intimidated when I read [the script] because I tend to be drawn toward more conflicted characters with more internal turmoil and darkness,” the Swedish actor said at the movie’s Sundance premiere in January.

“To play this good-hearted, good-natured, sweet, morally righteous character was scary to me,” he added at the time. “I’m not really comfortable doing that. I don’t have anything to tap into when it comes to that. So it was a stretch as an actor.”
Meanwhile, Colman called the film one of her “top three favorite scripts I’ve ever read,” in a January interview with Deadline.
Wicker hits theaters on Friday, Oct. 23.
